I’ve been very busy since last week, but managed to find a little time to visit my friend’s exhibition. It commemorates her first book (above photo), which is a casual translation of Heian court literature, ‘Makura no Shoshi (The Pillow Book)’, written in 10th century Japan. I think her character goes just perfectly well with the theme! You can find her work at: Wind Press 71 (Chiaki Mori illustration)

先日、イラストレーターの森千章さんの個展にお邪魔してきました。彼女の著書で、「枕草子」をイラストを交えて現代風に解釈した『超訳 枕草子』を記念した個展。のびのびと自由な感じのドローイング、すごく好きです。上の写真は、著書より抜粋。

I visited my friend’s exhibition at OPA Gallery near Omotesando, where she and other four illustrators show book cover illustrations. Nice show, and even nicer to have a chance to talk to other fellow illustrators. I was so busy looking and talking that I totally forgot to take a photo, so here is their promo postcard.

先日知り合ったイラストレーターの友人、森千章さんがグループ展を開くと聞き、行ってきました。同じ５冊のカバーを５人がそれぞれつくる、という面白い企画展。他にも面白そうな展示が待っているみたいなので、また観に行こうと思います！
