This is a quirky book I found in a library nearby.

It’s called ‘Kamakura Sourvenir Book’, basically a guidebook but it is elaborately made to have a proper ‘retro’ look. The places featured in it are already nostalgic but you can tell there are so many efforts they made to get this look. The models (they dress like what my mum wore when she was young) and the colour of the photos, the type of paper they use (that cheep-looking, glossy paper) …all look so out-of-date. Nice.

だいぶ前なんですが、図書館でこのガイドブックを見つけました。「鎌倉スーベニイル手帖」。この風変わり加減から察するに、そして図書館においてあるくらいなので、もしかして有名なのかもしれません。

ページをめくっていると、このレトロ感を出すために相当な努力をしていることがうかがえます。モデルの選択とか、服装とか、母が持ってる何十年前の雑誌に出てきそうです。写真の色合いも昔の雑誌を見ているみたいな発色だし、文字の入れ方とかも、今日のスキのないお洒落デザインとは無縁みたいです。お見事。

I think I have missed some important information about my work until now! I found out two of my works are now available as canvas art from Great Big Canvas in the U.S. It looks really nice, but international shipping seems to be expensive so maybe it is for those in the U.S. …

アメリカのGreat Big Canvasというサイトから、私の鎌倉mapがキャンバスプリントとして購入できます（本人が気づいていなかっただけで、結構前から販売されていた模様…（笑））。でも米国外だと送料がかなり高くつくので、実質的にはアメリカ在住の方向けかなという感じです。
