I have recently visited an exhibition where you can see 37 ‘re-created’ works of Vermeer at Vermeer Center Ginza. They are made from scanned images, but restored and ‘re-created’ to have the colours they used to have back in 17th centuries!
The colours are amazingly vivid and very different from the original works whose colours have been faded over the long period of time, so it has a different kind of excitement! They’ve also reproduced a corner of the room, which appears in one of Vermeer’s paintings, ‘Lady Writing a Letter with her Maid’. A very popular photo shooting spot!

フェルメール・センター銀座 に行ってきました。現存するフェルメールの作品３７点を、デジタル画像技術を使い１７世紀当時の色彩を再現し「re-create」したものが、一度に観られます。色褪せはもちろん、所蔵する美術館の修復方法の方針などにより、現存のオリジナル作品の見た目はぞれぞれ違うとのことなのですが、当時の色彩はすごく鮮やかでした。写真は、作品中に登場する部屋を再現したコーナーで撮った一枚（と、元々の作品）。
